Make Date Night Great Again.
After decades on the road, Martin has learned that sometimes people need more than a reason to
laugh. They need a reason to get out of the house.
“We spend all week working, taking care of kids, paying bills, staring at our phones and trying to
figure out what’s for dinner,” Martin says. “Then Friday night gets here and somehow date night
becomes sitting on opposite ends of the couch watching something neither one of you picked. I
think we can do better than that.”
That’s the idea behind Seemed Smart at the Time – a night of stand-up comedy built for couples,
friends and anybody who could use a couple of hours away from real life.
Martin turns marriage, kids, money, family, aging and his own questionable decisions into the
kind of stories that make audiences laugh because they recognize themselves in them.
“We’ve all made decisions that seemed pretty smart at the time,” Martin says. “Then you’re
standing there looking at the consequences thinking, ‘Well… that definitely made more sense in
my head.’ That’s where a lot of my material comes from.”
Martin’s comedy is adult, relatable and guaranteed F-bomb free. It isn’t children’s comedy,
and it isn’t a church show. It’s comedy for grown-ups who want to laugh about being stressed,
married, divorced, raising families, and surviving all the things nobody warned us about.
So, get off the couch, put the phones down and Make Date Night Great Again.
Seemed Smart at the Time is comedy for people who have lived a little, loved a little, screwed
up a little and learned to laugh about all of it.
